Farmers of Gold is a community gold miners organisation with over 4000 registered members in Lologorian Kenya originality organised in 2018 by our current Chairman Simon Jaramba Odoyo, Matt Hales, Linus Tomboy, and Alex Karine. Welcome to our website!
Farmers of Golds mission is to advocate for Mercury Free Gold Extraction through improved sluice technology, shaker tables, mercury retorts, ID registration, women and children issues, formalisation, safety gear and safety training, with the goal to make all of these resources available to all artisanal gold mining communities in East Africa.
Among our objectives is to create mass awareness to the mining community and the public, on the dangers of traditional gold extraction methods currently using mercury and cyanide, with our emphasise on safety precautions through training and provision of safety gear.
Artisanal Mining Advocates in partnership with Farmers of Gold are formally engaged with The Ministry of Petroleum & Mining and The Ministry of Environment, Planet Gold, Solidaridad, Impact Facility, and The chambers Federation, to support its mission of Mercury-Free gold processing throughout Kenya.
